I don't even know what I was ordering, I just saw something with peanut sauce and green beans and trusted my intuition on this one. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I'm about in tears with how delicious this food is. The energy of the woman serving me who I would assume is the owner she's the sweetest. I've never ate anything like this before but I am in heaven. Will be back!

Halfway through our Cali trip, we had a brief intersection of vacations with my parents as they drove through LA while we were here. We decided to get lunch together and had to get some Indonesian food which is severely underrepresented in Boston. This spot caught our eye so we drove 45 minutes to muck. Immediately as we walked in I was greeted with familiar smells, a cozy interior, Rich Brian playing, and a child playing on their phone at one of the tables. I felt at home. The owners were super friendly and conversed with my parents and myself (with my bare minimum knowledge of Indonesian), and after a couple minutes we decided on what we wanted to eat. We got the Batagor and Ketoprak for appetizers (both delicious, I want more). For my meal I got the Soto Betawi Komplit and my parents and buds got the Nasi Tumpeng Mini. We then split an order of Ikan Goreng Kipas (delicious). For dessert we got Es Teler, Es Cendol, and Martabak. Everything was amazing and left me with a bloated stomach. Next time I come back to LA you know this spot will be on my list.

LaaLaaPan was such a great experience from start to finish. If you’re looking for unique Indonesian flavors and authentic dishes that you don’t find everywhere, this place absolutely delivers. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and tasted fresh and homemade. The menu has so many interesting options, and it’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back just to try something new every time. The atmosphere was warm, fun, and welcoming, and the staff was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. You can really tell they care about both the food and the experience. Pro tip: get the Nasi Tumpeng Mini — not only does it look amazing, but it’s also an awesome way to try a variety of flavors in one meal. Definitely one of the most memorable dining spots I’ve been to in a long time!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely phenomenal—Laalaapan has become my go‑to spot! I ordered several dishes to really explore the menu, and every single one delivered. The Chicken Satay was tender, flavorful, and perfectly grilled with that rich, addictive peanut sauce. The Nasi Ayam Goreng Kremes Komplit had incredible crunch and seasoning—comfort food at its best. The Nasi Ayam Bakar Komplit came with beautifully smoky, juicy chicken that tasted like it came straight off a backyard grill. But the star of the meal was the Nasi Ayam Uduk Komplit. The fragrant coconut rice, the balanced spices, the chicken and especially the peanuts with dried fish (ikan bilis) and egg were outstanding. That combination added so much depth and texture—it tied the whole dish together and made it unforgettable. It’s the kind of plate you keep thinking about long after you’re done. Generous portions, bold flavors, and consistent quality across the board. Laalaapan is easily one of the best finds in the area, and I can’t wait to order again.

A true hole in the wall gem!!! Food was so flavorful and there were tons of great options, we struggled to make decisions!! Between the amazing food and the friendly, thoughtful service, we 1000% will be back! I think this just because our new go-to spot!! Pics: The lumpia was fire (didn’t get a pic of the full plate before we dove in so you’ll see just one!) chicken sate was amazing along with all the other dishes we got 😋
